K-8 Parents:
We are excited to be able to spend some time with you on Wednesday, October 22nd & Thursday, October 23rd to discuss your child’s progress this year and share some examples of their work and assessments that they have completed to start the school year.
Parents of Kdg-4th Grade Students:
Parents & Guardians of students in grades K-4 will have the experience of a traditional parent-teacher conference in which your child’s teacher will review work samples, testing results, and how your child is adapting to school life socially and emotionally. In an attempt to streamline the process and give you a chance to sign up for a conference that best fits your schedule.
The link below will become active on Monday, October 6th at 6:00AM. Please sign up for your K-4 conference by accessing the link and recording your child's name next to the preferred conference time:

Parents of 5-8th Grade Students (Student Must Be In Attendance):
Parents & Guardians of students in grades 5-8 will host a learner-led conferences. Your child has been working hard in their Advisory Class to assemble a digital portfolio that they will be sharing with you as they lead you through their academic strengths and where there is room for improvement.
The purpose of a Learner Led Conference is to put students in the driver's seat as they start to conceptualize what they do well and where they need support or to work harder and be able to communicate that with you as parents. This in turn will help to guide their decisions as they transition from St. Rose School to high school.
Please note, you will be signing up with your child’s Advisory Teacher who will facilitate the Learner-Led Conference and share testing information with you. Should you feel the need to connect with other middle school teachers please contact them via email or by phone to schedule a separate appointment.
Please sign up for your 5-8 Learner Led Conference by accessing the following weblink anytime after 6AM on October 6th: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s9ZESdDJOQ-N5vIGoLvK5me-veEcCfVV63j5FndHuu8/edit?gid=43713508#gid=43713508 please record your child’s name on the date/time that you prefer next to your child’s Advisory Teacher.

Dear SRS Parents,
This Friday marks the midterm of the first quarter, which is a great time to check in to see how your child is doing and how they are adjusting to the start of a new school year.
We encourage you to log in to TeacherEase to see their current grades and assignments at this time and to set a reminder to do a "check in" throughout the year. If you need help getting access, please call the office and Denise (618.526.7484) would be happy to walk you through it.
If your child is doing well give them a boost by highlighting an assignment or test that they performed well on. If you notice your child struggling in an area be proactive now to try to find the root of the issue, is it homework completion? Quiz or test grades? Or it might be an opportunity for you to reach out directly to your child's teacher(s). They are a wonderful resource for not only addressing concerns but also for hearing about the positive things that have happened so far this school year and how your child is adjusting.

The school newspaper IM kicks off tomorrow! We can't wait for our first meeting! Be on the lookout for the finished paper at the end of the month!

It was a great day for learning yesterday, both in the classroom and on the bus! Our St. Rose PreK-8th Grade and high school bus riders engaged in a bus safety drill.
It’s a great reminder for our students about some key rules that keep everyone safe on the road so the driver is able to focus on driving.
A few things we covered:
-Stay seated and facing forward while the bus is in motion.
-Keep the bus aisles clear—put bags on your lap or under your seat.
-Use a quiet, indoor voice.
-Wait for the bus driver’s signal before you cross the street.
Safety is always our top priority, and we're so proud of our students for taking this important lesson seriously.
