Congratulations to Lillian! She was a finalist for the Picture the Music competition by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. 13,000 students from 70 schools participated, and Lillian was one of 100 finalists chosen.

Pre-K had special guest Abby Timmermann (licensed vet technician) share about her experience working with pets for their Pets unit.
We are monitoring the weather and we will delay the release of students at the end of the day if it is no safe to send them on the bus. If you would like to pick up your child you may do so after 2:15. Middle school students are testing until 2:15.

6th grade students learned about thermal energy transfers, insulators, and conductors. Students also learned about the South African penguins who are on the endangered list due to their igloos being destroyed by humans and the penguins not being able to withstand the heat. Armed with $100 "Voss Bucks" students purchased materials to make an igloo to hold a penguin ice cube. The igloo would then undergo 15 minutes of radiation from a heat lamp. The goal was to save 75% of the penguin ice cube mass.

Today we held a pep rally to celebrate two of our varsity teams! Bowling competed in the Central SIJHSAA Regionals this past weekend. While the Wildcats will not be moving on to State we are extremely proud of their season. 🎳
We also celebrated our Volleyball team. The Lady Wildcats take the floor against Trinity-Hoffman tonight in Regionals. The Lady Wildcats play at 5:00 at Albers. 🏐

Scholar bowl spent a long day in some hard fought matches today at Central. Thanks for all your hard work, Wildcats!
The St. Rose Science classes will have the opportunity to gain hands on experiences to plant, grow, and harvest different types of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruit through the new Tower Garden! Students will also learn about the life cycle of plants, importance of water quality, plant nutrients, and more! When you walk or drive by, you may see our tower shine! Stay tuned for more updates in the weeks to come!
It was such a treat to have Brett Richter from Plocher construction visit our afternoon Prek class this week to teach the students about construction. Each student was sent home with a cup, sunglasses, pencil and a child sized tape measure courtesy of Plocher construction.
