The first semester is flying by and if you are an 8th grader or a parent of one, the second semester will go even faster for you. As we help our students transition to high school we invite them to arrange a "Shadow Visit" with the following policy guidelines and filling out the Shadow Request Form found below and on our app or website in the documents folder: Eighth grade students will be afforded the opportunity to take two (2) days during their eighth grade year to shadow a student from Breese Central High School (1 Day) and/or Breese Mater Dei High School (1 Day). Arrangements must be made in advance with the corresponding high school as well as St. Rose Elementary. All homework must be picked up before the high school shadow experience and is expected to be completed and turned in the following day for full credit. The Shadow Request must be signed and turned into the St. Rose Office no less than 1 day before the shadow request date to indicate an excused absence. Students are responsible for any assignments assigned or collected during their shadow day. Please note: An unexcused absence will result in “0” for any grades that are taken for the day of the unexcused absence. 6th grade STEM students completed cross curricular projects with Social Studies as they learn about Ancient Egypt. Students created their own Canopic Jars and to preserve apple slices. They also learned about pyramid building and built pyramids out of toothpicks and glue. They did a fantastic job!

We are excited to share some great news regarding our WILDCAT CUB Playground, which has been specifically designed for our youngest learners (5 and under). We are delighted to announce that the playground is almost complete! Today marked a significant milestone as our students had the joy of playing on the equipment for the very first time. Their laughter and enthusiasm filled the air, and it truly brought the playground to life. We only have a couple of finishing touches to attend to: installing a small fence around the area and pouring a concrete pad for a bench inside the fenced space. Once these final details are completed, our playground will be fully operational for our little ones to enjoy safely and comfortably. We would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the St. Rose Booster Club Officers: Brandy Schwierjohn, Nicki Harrison, Cheryl Timmermann, and Brooke Mollet as well as our 2024 Reverse Drawing Committee, Contributors and Donors! Your dedication and relentless efforts behind the scenes have been invaluable in turning this vision into a reality. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project. Together, we have created an amazing space for our youngest learners to explore and engage in outdoor play, which is so crucial for their development.
